Box Full Of Rainbows Started With Tracie Making 3 Care Packages At The Start Of Lockdown - April 2020 ... We Ended In July 2020 Having Giving Out 3426 To Our Amazing Keyworkers!
In July 2020, Box Full Of Rainbows Became Rainbow Wishes! In August 2020 We Completed Our First Community Wish By Helping Plastic Free Eastbourne With One Of Their Monthly Beach Cleans!

On 19th September 2020, Rainbow Wishes Community Store opened in the Enterprise Centre, Eastbourne. We have a range of preloved & new products, aswell as having shelves full of local crafters displaying their items. Pop over to the Community Store tab to see more photos of our opening day.

27th September 2020: Rainbow Wishes completed another beach clean for Plastic Free Eastbourne, along with some amazing help from Kim & Georgie from Morrisons Eastbourne & young helpers from the YMCA.
From May-October 2020 we asked for clothes, bags & shoes for our Bag2TheFuture collection. Thank you to everyone who donated to this collection, we raised just over £100!
On 9th October 2020, Rainbow Wishes were notified of a family in Eastbourne that had suffered a house fire. With the help of Athena at Asda Eastbourne we were able to collect brand new items including duvets, pillows, teddies for the children and clothing & toiletries for all the family, to Chris Berry, his wife & 3 children. They were so thankful & it was our pleasure to be involved & to put a smile on their faces during such a difficult time.
On 16th October, we were very pleased to meet the lovely ladies, Betty & Mandy, from Bourne Out LGBT. We had a tour of their cafe & Rainbow Shop which we loved. We were thrilled that we were able to donate to their cause which helps so many local people & is close to our Rainbow Wishes hearts! On 30th October 2020, we received an absolutely amazing grant from The National Lottery Community Fund! We were over the moon to be recognised as a worthy cause! And of course, we celebrated with cake!
On 5th November, we were so happy to be able to grant the wish of a local care home Inglewood Nursing Home. This TV will allow residents to continue to take part in church services, see loved ones and participate in group zoom sessions. It might not fix things but we really hope it makes current times a bit easier and a bit more fun!
On 13th November, we were so thrilled to be able to support Defiant sports with a delivery of items for their new sensory room! We purchased lots of items such as bubble lamps, fidget toys, various seating, activities and games for them & we look forward to popping back to see them all being used in the new year! Thank you Loretta for showing us round!
During September-November 2020 we were so grateful to be involved in Morrisons Book Sales. A massive thank you to Kim & Georgie, the Community Champions at Eastbourne Morrisons, for their continued support of Rainbow Wishes & for all they do for our community! Thank you to everyone who came & purchased books, we were overwhelmed with the support! We will be back with book sales as soon as the government restrictions allow, until then though stay safe, stay well and stay reading!!
On 7th December 2020, we made 30 large boxes full of essentials, food and treats all going to families in need this Christmas in our town. Alongside these has gone a variety of toys, stockings and selection boxes so no child goes without. Your continued support to Rainbow Wishes makes these things possible and enables us to support children and families during times of need.
Our Mammoth December Book Sale!! We braved the freezing cold, wind & rain but it was worth it to help so many lovely people get some beautiful books at a bargain price. We are so pleased to have raised such an amazing amount which is split between ourselves & Clic Sargent via Morrisons Eastbourne Community Champion. Thank You To Everyone Who Supported Us!
We were notified of a local family who were finding this Christmas really hard with one child receiving long term treatment in hospital. To try and spread a few smiles we thought not only did the kids need some gifts but mum did too!
During December 2020 we asked for brand new toy donations & we were overwhelmed with the incredible amount of support we received for Rainbow Wishes Toy Box. THANK YOU all so much!!!! These will all be leaving us this week heading off to children across our town making a difficult time of year a little more festive.
On 17th December 2020 we were pleased to support Morrisons Eastbournes Community Champions at the DGH. A random act of kindness, we paid for patients and visitors parking! We hoped it helped during these difficult times!
More wonderful toys from Rainbow Wishes Toy Box left us today! Thank you to Eastbourne Police for passing these on to more children in our community!
Pevensey And Westham School were the winners of our ‘books for school’ giveaway! Jodie, a teacher at PAWs, said ‘As a school we are truly grateful for receiving the box of books from you. They will really support the development we are planning for our school library. All the children will really enjoy the new titles. Thank you!
We received a last minute urgent request for help & the next day we delivered toys and gifts for a dad and his 5 children! We hope this helps during these difficult times!
During December, we were very busy Rainbow Fairies! We thought that Eastbourne Ambulance Service, South East Coast Ambulance deserved some treats so we popped over with a bagful of goodies to thank them for all they are doing & have done this year! We were notified of a lovely lady who, along with her daughter, has had a tough time this year. We are so grateful to the response we had to help them. Thank you to everyone who dropped off or who we collected from today. We delivered a goodie bag to them which we really hope helped during this difficult time!
A huge thank you to Asda Eastbourne for our Christmas Giving Award. Thank you to everyone who nominated us, it means a lot to have so much support from our community!
In January 2021, we launched a request for stationery for home learning packs to help those children without internet access or who found online learning difficult. We were once again, overwhelmed with the support of our community. Along with support from Morrisons Eastbourne Community Champions who helped make up the packs, we made 710 home learning packs & delivered to 14 local schools in East Sussex!
In January 2021, we moved into our new premises in Pevensey Bay. We are very excited to be able to open our doors once restrictions allow. But for now, due to the current pandemic guidelines, we are busy preparing our shop, ready for you to shop safely. We are open Monday-Saturday for click & collect purchases via our website. We also regularly make drop offs to Eastbourne Foodbank, our collection basket is outside our store during opening hours. Thank you in advance for your support!
On 22nd January 2021 we purchased 12 books for Blackberry Buzzard Nature Space to be included in their home growing packs. We love what you are doing & look forward to working with you again in the future!
Februrary 2021 we announced our Educational Giveaway! Resulting in a draw, Langney Primary School & Stonecross Primary School were the lucky winners & both schools were given 4 large boxes of educational books! We really hoped they helped the students!
As always, all sales from our book sales (with half going to Clic Sargant) & Rainbow Wishes store go back into your community. In Februrary 2021, we were able to provide emergency support for a local domestic abuse victim & children. We really hope the support we gave helped at this difficult time!
We can finally shout about these gorgeous little bears! March 2021, we were so pleased to be able to gift Pevensey & Westham CE Primary School 425 personalised bears, one for each child to welcome them back after the COVID-19 pandemic closed our schools again. We wanted to let each and every child know they had been missed and make what was a daunting day for many a little bit easier! A huge thank you to Courtney-Lee & Georgie for all their hard work with this project!
These are the greatest things we have ever received. What an absolutely incredible and thoughtful gift. We love them so much we're hoping to incorporate them into our new window display for you all to see. Thank you so much to the children of Pevensey and Westham Primary School!
Lovely to meet Leanne from Willingdon Trees Community Centre today at the end of March 2021! We were so pleased to have helped their Easter Club by supplying over 40 Easter Eggs, books & Easter activities for the lovely children that will be attending! We hope it goes well & look forward to working with you again soon!
Since 12th February 2021 we have continued with our famous Book Sales! We have set up an online platform to allow our community access to brand new books to raise funds for ourselves & Clic Sargant via Morrisons Eastbourne Community Champion. This is an ongoing fundraising opportunity & we would like to thank everyone who has purchased!
We are patiently waiting for COVID-19 restrictions to be lifted to allow us to open our doors. We are hoping to open in April 2021, please keep an eye on our social media pages for updates. We have a wide range of arts & crafts, stationery & sensory toys - all of which are available to purchase online, we will then safely pack your orders ready for you to collect.
